Pickup 409 Pictures

Firehouse Magazine Showcase of Mulvane P-409

Pickup 409, 2005 Ford F-350 Supercab 4x4.

This unit was jointly purchased between the City of Mulvane & Fire District #12.  The custom built unit was manufactured for us by First Due out of Bartlett, KS.  This unit has a 300 gallon water tank with a 250 GPM Hale pump.  Special features include two 1" forestry lines, dual spray nozzles on the front bumper, 150' 1 3/4" pre-connect line, 100' 1" booster line, and storage compartments which includes a cross bed compartment for storing pike poles, rakes & shovels.

This truck is replacing old Pickup 409 which was a 1984 Ford F-250 Supercab 4x4.  The old unit was sold to Oxford Fire Department.

This unit cost $36,858.

Thanks to a KS Forestry Grant, Pickup 409 received a TFT remote wildland monitor in October 2009.
Unit was sold and installed by Emergency Fire Equipment in Mayfield for $6,000.

Kansas Forestry Service provided $2,250 to purchase a new Hale Foamlogix 2.1 Foam System for Pickup 409.  The project included a 12 gallon foam tank, water tank gauge and installation.
Low bid for this work was Emergency Fire Equipment in Mayfield, KS for a total cost of $5,927.
