Mulvane Emergency Services Employment

City of Mulvane is a member of HR Partners

Mulvane EMS

We hire Kansas Certified Emergency Medical Technicians for part-time employment and Kansas Certified Emergency Mobile Intensive Care Technicians for full time employment.  We also will accept applications from volunteers who wish to serve the community.

E.M.T. classes are held locally every semester at Cowley County Community College at the Mulvane Campus.  They have both a daytime class and an evening class to fit everyone's schedule.  E.M.T. & Paramedic programs are also offered at Hutchinson Community College & Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City.

If you are interested in helping, e-mail Captain Judi Patterson.

Mulvane Fire Rescue

We are accepting applications for volunteer firefighters.  Our next class will be January.  M.F.R. requires all members to take a department taught new members class.

Fire Science Degree's can be obtained locally from Butler County Community College or Hutchinson Community College.

Normally a new member class is held every January.  The new member class typically lasts 6-8 weeks, one night a week with a couple of Saturdays.  Basic essentials of firefighting & fire ground safety are reviewed.  New Members are given 3 years to achieve Firefighter 1 certification.  FF-1 is taught in house by our Training Staff.  Upon successful completion of FF-1 you will receive IFSAC national accreditation from KUFST

M.F.R. reimburses its volunteers $3.00 per call and $4.00 per training session.  You can also receive an extra $.25 for E.M.T., Paramedic, or First Responder certification, $.25 for Firefighter-I certification, $.25 for Firefighter-II certification, $.25 for Driver-Operator certification & $.25 for holding selected officers positions as designated in Department Bylaws.
